I'm David Kennedy, Founder and Principal Consultant of Keep An Eye Out.

For more than 25 years, I've worked across mining, construction, infrastructure, health, local government and public sector organisations, helping leaders navigate risk, strengthen governance and improve organisational performance.
​
Throughout my career, I've learned that organisations rarely fail because they lack information. More often, challenges arise when risks go unnoticed, accountability becomes unclear, systems become ineffective, or opportunities for improvement are overlooked.

That's where Keep An Eye Out comes in.

I established Keep An Eye Out to provide independent advice that helps organisations see issues clearly, make informed decisions and implement practical solutions that deliver lasting results.

My experience spans executive leadership, operational management, governance oversight, assurance activities, risk management, contractor governance and organisational improvement. Having worked from frontline operations through to senior leadership roles, I understand both the strategic and practical challenges organisations face every day.

Today, I work with organisations operating in complex and high-risk environments, helping them strengthen governance, improve risk visibility, enhance operational performance and build confidence in their systems and decision-making processes.
 

In addition to advisory services, I contribute to governance and policy discussions through discussion papers, submissions, organisational reform initiatives and policy development activities focused on workforce protection, accountability, regional sustainability and organisational improvement.

Throughout my career, I have held leadership and advisory roles across major mining operations, large-scale infrastructure projects, public health services and local government. These roles have included HSEQT Superintendent at one of Australia's deepest underground gold mines, Alternate Senior Site Executive on the $2.2 billion Iluka Rare Earth Refinery Project, Director and Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing within major public health services, and elected Shire Councillor. This practical leadership experience continues to shape my approach to governance, risk management, assurance and organisational improvement.
